Vancouver, Washington—December 1st, 2015—Northwest Association for Blind Athletes (NWABA) announced today that it is launching the organization’s first skiing and snowboarding program for children, youth, adults and veterans with visual impairments. The first programs of this kind are scheduled for Saturday, December 5th and Saturday, December 12th at Mt. Hood Meadows Ski Resort. This program features one-on-one instructing, and it will give individuals the opportunity to learn the basic fundamentals of skiing and snowboarding.
“We are very excited to be expanding our life-changing programs through the addition of skiing & snowboarding. Within hours of releasing this program to our participants, we were booked fully for both days. These events will introduce our athletes to new and exciting opportunities that most have never been able to experience.” said Founder & Executive Director Billy Henry
Northwest Association for Blind Athletes plans to host two additional ski & snowboard experiences in March and has aspirations of expanding the program in the future. Each session will cost the organization in excess of $750.00 for ten participants.
