"As a visually impaired athlete, sports mean a lot to me. To me, athletics means the ability to compete on an equal playing field with sighted athletes. Athletics also gives me an opportunity to travel to places that I would never be able to afford to go on my own. For example, I had the opportunity to attend a world powerlifting championship in Las Vegas, Nevada, and without the help of the Northwest Association for Blind Athletes, I would not have been able to afford the trip. With your financial gift, other visually impaired athletes will have the opportunity to compete in various sports just like I was able to compete. So please give what you can to help this organization."
