NWABA awarded $6,000 in grants from two foundations

Vancouver, WA—June 21, 2010—The Northwest Association for Blind Athletes (NWABA) is very proud to announce that we have been awarded a $3,500.00 grant from the Northwest Lions Foundation for Sight and Hearing, and a $2,500.00 grant from the OCF Joseph E. Weston Public Foundation.

Grant funding from the Northwest Lions Foundation for Sight and Hearing will partially fund the expansion of our Sports Outreach Program for Blind and Visually Impaired students across the State of Washington. The OCF Joseph E. Weston Public Foundation grant will help to provide general operating support for expansion of programming.

“NWABA would like to thank the Northwest Lions Foundation for Sight and Hearing, and OCF Joseph E. Weston Public Foundation for their generous support of our programs.” said Billy Henry, Executive Director.

Our Sports Outreach Program will be fully launched in September. Several clinics and camps are already being planned for students across the Northwest.

About NWABA:
The mission of the Northwest Association for Blind Athletes is to provide opportunities for blind and visually impaired persons to become engaged in physical activity and sports. We will provide scholarships and host events to build confidence and physical fitness. The confidence gained from sports will inspire athletes to follow their dreams in life and in sports.
