2019 Building Momentum Campaign

Northwest Association for Blind Athletes (NWABA) has been building momentum across the Pacific Northwest through adaptive sports camps for youth and children. This summer we are thrilled to continue with two weeklong summer camps in Oregon and in Washington.
Because of generous supporters like you, NWABA is proud to say that 80 youth ages 9-15 will join us for a week full of opportunities to learn new sports, to make new friends, and to gain the confidence and independence that helps them achieve success in all areas of life.

“Octavio’s confidence and independence have changed in ways that are hard to even put into words since attending NWABA’s summer camps…He has now attended camp for three summers in a row and the growth continues; he travels independently to all of his classes, has a fantastic group of friends, does chores at home, participates in 100% of his PE class and so much more!” – Octavio’s Teacher and NWABA Supporter, Brittany Valicoff

What are NWABA camps?

In both Oregon and Washington, NWABA hosts weeklong developmental sports summer camps for 80 youth who are visually impaired or blind. Our camps use sports as a catalyst to empower children and youth with visual impairments to build confidence, to join a community of peers who understand each other’s daily challenges, and to develop advocacy and mobility skills to gain a greater sense of independence in everyday life.

NWABA is honored to have one of the largest camps in the world for kids who are blind and visually impaired.
