KMR Group Foundation awards Northwest Association for Blind Athletes $150,000 to Expand Programs for Individuals with Visual Impairments
Vancouver, Washington—May 12th, 2014—The Northwest Association for Blind Athletes (NWABA) announced today that the KMR Group Foundation has awarded the organization a $150,000 grant and will become the Premier Program Partner to expand the scope and breadth of programs made available to individuals with visual impairments.
“We are extremely grateful to the KMR Group Foundation for supporting our life-changing programs for individuals who are blind or visually impaired. This gift truly comes at a transformative time for the organization as we are drastically expanding all of our programs for individuals of all ages and ability levels with visual impairments,” said Co-Founder and Executive Director Billy Henry. “Each year we continue to see a drastic increase in need for programs. Support from the KMR Group Foundation will allow us to more effectively address current needs and begin expanding current programing and initiatives to take the organization to the next level.”

Northwest Association for Blind Athletes (NWABA) is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that provides programming to over 1,000 individuals of all ages and ability levels with visual impairments. The mission of NWABA is to provide life-changing opportunities through sports and physical activity to individuals who are blind and visually impaired. The Association was formed by a group of visually impaired students in 2007 to ensure that people who are blind were participating in sports and physical activity.
