Lenore Derrick Appointed to Northwest Association for Blind Athletes Board of Directors

Vancouver, Washington—December 6th, 2013—The Northwest Association for Blind Athletes (NWABA) announced today Lenore Derrick has been appointed to the organization’s Board of Directors. Derrick is a Manager of Business Development for DePaul Industries in Portland, OR.

“To be a contributing member of the community that I live and work in is very important to me and I feel privileged to have been provided this opportunity to serve Northwest Association for Blind Athletes. I feel their mission to provide experiences to individuals who are blind or visually impaired in the form of sports and other physical activity is inspiring.  There are many outlets for volunteerism throughout our community but this organization is a perfect place to dedicate my time and experience.  I am very much looking forward to helping NWABA continue its mission to change lives.” said Derrick

Lenore will join other community leaders in helping Northwest Association for Blind Athletes achieving its mission of providing life-changing opportunities through sports and physical activity to individuals who are blind and visually impaired.

Northwest Association for Blind Athletes (NWABA) is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that provides programming to over 1,000 individuals of all ages and ability levels with visual impairments. The mission of NWABA is to provide life-changing opportunities through sports and physical activity to individuals who are blind and visually impaired. The Association was formed by a group of visually impaired students in 2007 to ensure that people who are blind were participating in sports and physical activity.
