Northwest Association for Blind Athletes to host Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser to support Boise Blaze Goalball Team on November 1st
Vancouver, Washington—October 14th, 2014—The Northwest Association for Blind Athletes (NWABA) announced today that it will be hosting a Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser on November 1st, 2014 from 5:00-9:00pm at VFW Post 63 (8931 Ardene Street, Boise, ID). The event will support the Boise Blaze Goalball Team. Tickets are $10 per person. Reservations can be made by calling 360-448-7254, 1-800-880-9837, or by visiting http://tinyurl.com/boiseblazefundraiser. The deadline to reserve tickets is Wednesday, October 29th.
Goalball is a Paralympic sport played by individuals who are blind and visually impaired. Developed after WWII as a way to keep blinded veterans physically active, it has become the premiere team game for blind athletes. Played competitively by men and women, it is a very fast paced, physically challenging, strategic and exciting game.
The Boise Blaze is made up of individuals of all ages with visual impairments primarily from Boise, ID. It is part of Northwest Association for Blind Athletes Sports Teams Program which has a goal of increasing the number of opportunities for people with visual impairments to participate in ongoing sports and physical fitness.

Northwest Association for Blind Athletes (NWABA) is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that provides programming to over 1,000 individuals of all ages and ability levels with visual impairments. The mission of NWABA is to provide life-changing opportunities through sports and physical activity to individuals who are blind and visually impaired. The Association was formed by a group of visually impaired students in 2007 to ensure that people who are blind were participating in sports and physical activity.
