Northwest Association for Blind Athletes receives $50,000 Grant from KMR Group Foundation to Expand Opportunities for Individuals with Visual Impairments
Vancouver, WA- March 8th, 2017- Northwest Association for Blind Athletes announced today that the KMR Group Foundation has awarded the organization a $50,000 grant to continue to expand the scope and breadth of programs made available to children, youth, adults and military veterans with visual impairments.
“Northwest Association for Blind Athletes has been extremely fortunate to have KMR Group Foundation by our side as the premier program partner for the last three years,” said Billy Henry, NWABA’s Founder and Executive Director. “We are honored to continue our partnership to ensure individuals of all ages and abilities with visual impairments build the confidence and self-esteem they need to achieve their greatest potential in all areas of life. With support from the KMR Group Foundation, dedicated volunteers and strong program partners, we are expanding current programing, developing new initiatives and truly changing the game for individuals who are blind and visually impaired in our community.”

The mission of Northwest Association for Blind Athletes (NWABA) is to provide life-changing opportunities through sports and physical activity to individuals who are blind and visually impaired. The Association was formed by a group of visually impaired students in 2007 to ensure that people who are blind were participating in sports and physical activity.
