NWABA EXPANDS ITS VIDEO RESOURCE LIBRARY WITH NEW SPORTS ADAPTATIONS

Man and woman viewing the resource library on a desktop computer.NWABA’s Video Resource Library now offers 70 videos for use by teachers, educators, coaches, community members, athletes and their families to implement instructional strategies, when working with individuals who are blind and visually impaired.

There is a need throughout our community for tangible and accessible resources to increase inclusion and engagement among students who are blind and visually impaired. Each video shows a range of comprehensive adaptations and teaching methods, and is paired with an adaptations manual and tactile diagram (when applicable) to further enhance instruction.

In addition to covering locomotor, object control and fitness skills, we’ve added adaptive instructional videos focused on specific sports such as basketball, bowling, hockey, racket sports, power lifting, volleyball, yoga, as well as physical education games geared towards students in elementary and high school, and students with multiple disabilities.

NWABA’s Adaptive Sports Program also includes an adaptive equipment lending library and sports consultations for educators to further inclusion within their schools. These online resources further NWABA’s mission to serve all individuals who are blind and visually impaired worldwide. Visit our website for additional information on our Video Resource Library or contact Kirsten French at [email protected].
