Sports Adaptations: Video Resource Library, Equipment Lending Library, and PE Consultations
Northwest Association for Blind Athletes’ Sports Adaptations Program provides equipment lending, a comprehensive instructional video library and consultations for athletes, educators, school districts and families. If you or someone you know would benefit from our sports adaptations program, please contact Kirsten French, firstname.lastname@example.org or call 360.859.3116.
Video Resource Library
We have developed instructional videos for different sports and physical activities for individuals who are blind and visually impaired. These videos are a resource to students, educators, families and schools. Subscribe to NWABA’s YouTube Channel, so you can stay updated on the latest additions.
Adaptive Equipment Lending Library
NWABA lends adaptive sports equipment out to registered athletes for up to 2 months at no cost to the individual, school or family. It is important that our athletes are able to independently practice and engage in physical activity, even outside of other NWABA program events. This program enables our participants to continue to grow and engage in healthy active lifestyles. If you are interested in receiving adaptive equipment, check out our catalog and lending forms below and contact Kirsten French.
NWABA travels across the region to provide physical education and after-school sport consultations to teachers, IEP teams, administrators and school districts. NWABA is educating people on how to provide inclusive physical education and after-school sports for individuals who are blind or visually impaired. Most often, small adaptations are all that is needed for everyone to be able to participate. NWABA can provide the instruction, implementation and the adaptive equipment through our Sports Adaptations program. Please contact us today if you would like to receive these services.
