As part of our growth initiative, NWABA started offering programs and services for individuals who are blind and visually impaired in the state of Montana in 2012, through a partnership with the Montana School for the Deaf and Blind.
This month we are excited to begin offering a regular schedule of spring and summer programming throughout the state. NWABA will host ten events across Montana, including swimming, Paralympic experiences, hiking, and cooperative games. These youth programs will span seven cities with a full slate of events, including Kalispell, Missoula, Butte, Helena, Bozeman, Great Falls, Billings, and Eastern Montana. NWABA will visit Montana School for the Deaf and Blind to work with campus students and students across the state in showdown (a table game specifically designed for individuals with blindness or low vision), swimming, goalball and more!
Throughout the year, NWABA will continue to expand our programming across Montana in 2023. In addition to the current schedule, we will also introduce first-time ever adult hikes in Kalispell and Missoula this April, including the introduction of other adult events.
With the currently scheduled youth events and the upcoming introduction of adult events, 2023 is on track to be a record-breaking year for Montana programming. NWABA is excited to continue providing life-changing opportunities through sports and physical activity to individuals who are blind or visually impaired across Montana.
