NWABA has a new face around the office. Meet Ash Allen, our new Donor Relations Manager, who will be based out of our Vancouver office. Her primary role will be to grow NWABA’s presence and support base, specifically around the Puget Sound region and other growth areas.
Originally from the woods of Oxford, Mississippi, she came to the Pacific Northwest to attend The Evergreen State College in Olympia, WA. “Go Geoducks!” exclaimed Ash. What is a Geoduck (pronounced gooey-duck) you ask? Click here to learn about Evergreen’s mascot, Speedy. After graduation, she lived in Seattle for 15 years, where she began her foray into nonprofits
Ash has been working in the nonprofit arena for more than 10 years, specializing in donor engagement and communications. “I love bringing people closer to missions that move them, inspiring action and support through compelling narratives and meaningful relationship building,” says Ash.
She now lives in Portland with her 9+ year old rescue dog, Lucinda—or as Ash affectionately calls her Lucy Goose—and loves walking in the woods looking for birds and other “critters”. (That’s the Mississippi coming out in her.) Ash is also a stand-up comic and dance party DJ, so you might find her around Portland flexing these talents.
“I am thrilled to be on the NWABA team and cannot wait to increase capacity so NWABA can continue to grow and serve more individuals and families across the region and beyond,” says Ash. We’re just as thrilled to have her on board. Welcome to NWABA, Ash!
Feel free to drop her a NWABA welcome at aallen@nwaba.org.
