We are continually adding new programs, more services, and additional athletes and team members throughout the Gem State. With our continued growth in the state of Idaho, NWABA has enlisted the help of some long-time volunteers and local professionals to serve on our Area Leadership Council to help us further connect with the community.
Our Area Leadership Council held its first meeting in July 2022 and continues to meet monthly learning about program and service updates and strategizing opportunities to connect the community to our mission.
How does the Area Leadership Council differ from our Board of Directors? Think of our Area Leadership Council as a local extension of our Board of Directors. While members of our Board of Directors are located primarily in the Portland/Vancouver area, have fiduciary responsibilities and voting rights directly affecting the organization, our Area Leadership Council works diligently alongside our new team members in Idaho, by helping to raising funds, generating awareness, and recruiting volunteers to grow the organization’s life-changing programs across the state of Idaho.
Our current Area Leadership Council members were selected because of their long-time connection to our mission, either as a volunteer or having a family connection to blindness.
