WEEKNIGHT WINTER SPORTS PROGRAM IS A WINNER

Did you know that NWABA hosts mid-week snow sports programs during the winter? January 18th marked the start of our six-week skiing and snowboarding series at Mount Hood Meadows in Oregon. 2023 marks the second year of this six-week Wednesday night series.

Every Wednesday, our program team makes the journey with ten to twelve athletes each week for two-hour lessons on the mountain. Mt. Hood Meadows’ instructors, volunteers, and team members assist our athletes with individualized adaptive lessons to meet every athlete’s skill level. Our seventh year of partnership with Mount Hood Meadows has paved the way for our athletes to gain new skills, rediscover their love of winter sports, and for some, more time with a sport they loved that they thought they lost.

Because of the program’s wild success in 2022, we are looking forward to scaling the six-week series in the future to include other sports such as hiking, paddling, and tandem biking. Keep watching the schedule for additional information!
