Billy Henry and NWABA athlete, TJ Breitenfeldt, (Rooted with James O’Neil)

James down with Billy Henry, Founder and President/CEO of the Northwest Association of Blind Athletes (NWABA), and TJ Breitenfeldt, one of the original athletes who’s still actively competing today. NWABA’s mission is all about providing life-changing opportunities through sports and physical activity to individuals who are blind and visually impaired. Since starting in 2007 with just six athletes, Billy and his team have built a movement, transforming lives and becoming a leader in promoting inclusion and empowerment through sports. They had some inspiring conversations about the community’s support for NWABA, how far they’ve come, and the impact they continue to make. Of course, we also had a bit of fun, sharing laughs, poking good-natured fun at folks involved, and celebrating how sports can unite us all. This episode is full of heart, humor, and inspiring stories that highlight the power of real passion and a winning attitude to make things happen, even when others say you can’t.
