Boise, Idaho—December 9th, 2021— In partnership with the community, Northwest Association for Blind Athletes (NWABA) announced today that the organization is opening its first office in Boise, Idaho in May 2022 at 1444 S Entertainment Avenue in Boise. As part of NWABA’s Idaho expansion strategic initiative, the organization’s presence in the state of Idaho will significantly increase program services for individuals of all ages and abilities who are blind or visually impaired. The Association plans to deliver more in-person programming, lend equipment to students and teachers in rural communities across Idaho, and provide critical programs and services to help individuals with visual impairments reach their greatest potential in all areas of life.

This new office will position the organization for substantial growth in the coming years. It will support the addition of 15 new employees in Boise in the coming years to expand the organization’s mission and programs across the state of Idaho.

A group of students who were visually impaired formed the association in 2007 to ensure that people who are blind were participating in sports and physical activity.
