Northwest Association for Blind Athletes Opening New Office in Boise, Idaho to Expand Programming for Individuals Who Are Blind

Boise, Idaho—December 9th, 2021— In partnership with the community, Northwest Association for Blind Athletes (NWABA) announced today that the organization is opening its first office in Boise, Idaho in May 2022 at 1444 S Entertainment Avenue in Boise.  As part of NWABA’s Idaho expansion strategic initiative, the organization’s presence in the state of Idaho will significantly increase program services for individuals of all ages and abilities who are blind or visually impaired. The Association plans to deliver more in-person programming, lend equipment to students and teachers in rural communities across Idaho, and provide critical programs and services to help individuals with visual impairments reach their greatest potential in all areas of life.

This new location will support the expansion of more ongoing weekly programs, development of new services, and deepen engagement with the individuals and families we serve across Idaho. ” – said Billy Henry, Founder, President & CEO

This new office will position the organization for substantial growth in the coming years. It will support the addition of 15 new employees in Boise in the coming years to expand the organization’s mission and programs across the state of Idaho.

The mission of Northwest Association for Blind Athletes (NWABA) is to provide life-changing opportunities through sports and physical activity to individuals who are blind and visually impaired. A group of students who were visually impaired formed the association in 2007 to ensure that people who are blind were participating in sports and physical activity. Today, NWABA is a rapidly expanding 501(c)(3) charitable organization that provides more than 1,900 children, youth, adults and military veterans with visual impairments tailored programming which improves self-confidence and self-esteem, promotes independence, creates an inclusive community of supporters, and builds the skills necessary to succeed in all areas of life including school and employment.
