NWABA also supports the community through additional services, including mini grants for individuals and teams who are blind or low vision, as well as efforts to increase visibility, raise awareness, and strengthen support for the blind and visually impaired community.
NWABA’s Mini Grant Fund helps reduce financial barriers for athletes who are blind or low vision by providing funding to individuals and sports teams participating in local, regional, and international competitions. These grants help athletes access more opportunities to compete, grow in their sport, and participate at higher levels.
NWABA’s Increasing Visibility Program raises awareness of our mission and highlights the capabilities of people who are blind or low vision. Through public speaking, awareness events, community outreach, networking, and other engagement opportunities, we connect with schools, organizations, and communities to build greater awareness and understanding.
NWABA’s Sports Adaptations Program provides equipment lending, a comprehensive instructional video library and consultations for athletes, educators, school districts and families.
NWABA offers a variety of 60-minute live and pre-recorded, audio-described virtual workouts to keep you healthy and active at home.
