Nick is the CEO of IBL Events and has been volunteering with Northwest Association for Blind Athletes (NWABA) since the Fall of 2022.

How did you first become involved with NWABA?

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1678495899869{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}”]I first connected with NWABA via Billy Henry in 2018 and began to support his expansion into the area by introducing him to other major players in the area.

Why did you choose to volunteer with NWABA over other local organizations?

There were two main reasons why I chose to volunteer with NWABA. 1.) I just naturally aligned with their sport-forward mission; I have always had an appreciation for sports. 2.) I wanted to do more and be as involved as possible.

What motivates you or makes you happy to volunteer with NWABA?

I honestly feel like I get so much out of volunteering at events. There is just so much fun and joy that leaves me wanting to come back.

Please share a favorite story about volunteering with NWABA.

There are so many stories, but my first ever goalball event, I rolled the ball to one of the groups active athletes and she stood up in front of everyone and said,” um, Nick. You probably need to throw a little harder than that.” That type of banter and camaraderie at events keeps me going.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
